Stone MP, Bill Cash has urged local business to apply for Round 6 of the Regional Growth Fund, which has this week opened for bids for a share of the £200 million available, to help them grow and create jobs.
Already £430 million of funding has been allocated to the West Midlands to 69 different bids, attracting £3.3 billion of private investment and supporting 114,000 jobs.
The £3.2 billion fund supports projects using private sector investment to create jobs and growth.
Locally, the Fund has already supported WWRD UK Ltd in Barlaston and Goodwin PLC which, although in Stoke has employees in the Stone constituency, not to mention other regional employers such as Jaguar Land Rover Ltd.
Bill Cash commented:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses in Stone, Trentham, Cheadle, Eccleshall, Madeley and all areas throughout my constituency to apply for funding to help them grow and create jobs.
“The Fund is already supporting 114,000 jobs and £3.3 billion of private investment in the West Midlands, with funding for local businesses like WWRD UK Ltd and Goodwin Plc, and this new round will help businesses create even more.
“Creating more jobs by backing small businesses is a key part of the Conservatives’ long-term economic plan to secure a better and brighter future for Britain.
“Each new job this fund supports means another family with the security of a regular pay packet.”
