Bill Cash raising local concerns about planning

A letter from Bill Cash, on behalf of a constituent, about the National Policy Planning Framework, has received a reply from Bob Neill MP, the minister for Communities and Local Government.

In his letter, Mr Neill stressed that the aim of the reforms was to simplify a complex and confrontational system, while protecting the Green Belt and enabling local people to protect other green space. He wrote that "the presumption in favour of sustainable development is not a loophole to allow any development" and that brownfield land should be used as a priority.
