News from the leader of Staffordshire County Council, Cllr Philip Atkins - for the 7th month in a row there has been a decline in the number of Job Seeker Allowance claimants in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. Claimant rate stands at 1.9% for Staffordshire, half the West Midlands average of 3.8% and well below the England average of 3%, while Labour controlled Birmingham claimant rate is at 6.2% and Wolverhampton at 6.8%
