Cannock Chase District Council

SBC have been discussing the extending of shared services with Cannock. It is a long detailed report and an extremely important decision for the council. The two councils have been sharing some back office services for 11 years and are proposing that all services should be shared under a single management team. This will save the taxpayer an estimated further £1.2 m across both councils

At a special council meeting on the 6th December, recommendations were put forward for Stafford Borough Council to share services with Cannock Chase District Council that would save tax payers £1.2 million.

Discussions had been going on for well over 12 months and the councils have a proven track record of sharing services over a number of years.

The proposals were passed despite Stone Independent Borough Councillor, Jill Hood, abstaining on the vote.
