Vulcan Refractories Limited picks up a prestigious RoSPA Award for Workforce Involvement - Vulcan Refractories Limited is a winner again at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2017.
The company, based in STOKE ON TRENT, achieved Winner of the Workforce Involvement in Safety & Health Trophy and their 4th consecutive Gold award in the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Following attendance at a Garden Party held at Buckingham Palace in May, The company were presented with the award during a ceremony at the ExCeL, London on Tuesday, June 20, 2017. The award was achieved during a special year for family-safety charity RoSPA, as it celebrates its centenary.
Through the RoSPA Awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. The awards are now in its 61st year.

Vulcan Refractories, part of the Zampell group, are based at the Brookhouses Industrial Estate, Cheadle Staffordshire.
Vulcan specialises in the manufacture of refractory high temperature ceramics, supplying to many industries worldwide. Exports account for approximately 70% of the business.
The company has achieved four consecutive RoSPA Gold Safety awards and the Investors in People accreditations
Vulcan employs 35 staff, of which over 80% come from within a ten mile radius of the factory..
